July 5 - Seinfeld premieres on NBC;

July 14 - France celebrates the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution;

July 26 - Cornell University student Robert Tappan Morris is indicted for releasing a computer virus, making him the first person to be prosecuted for such an offense;
